I'm trying to get 2.4 power management working with xdm on my SS5. Has
anybody been successful in doing this?

I tried this and I had terrible results. Turning the screen of worked
as expected, but turning it on again only lead to unsyncable video.
Switching the monitor off and on was no help, restarting the X server
did not work, too. Only a reboot helped me to escape from this
situation :-( .

Anybody out there, who knows how to to it right?

P.S. Does anybody know, what is the magic about the scecial cable, you
need to use power management with grayscale monitors?
