Does anyone know where I can DL a communication Software for a
SUN Sparc running Solaris 2.3?
   Right now we have:
   - Sun Sparc running Solaris 2.3 on the Internet.
   - Zoom 14.4 kbps FAX/MODEM
   - Telephone line

Also, could you help with any documents for setting Sun's Port "A"
as a communicaction port?

What steps (Sun configuration) do I need for it to run?

Funny that is exactly what I have even to the same brand of modem.

I am not sure what you want to do but:
1. The admintool does a reasonable job of configuring serial ports.
With the zoom, set the baud rate at 38400.
2. If you set up uucp files correctly you can use cu to dial out.
3. I use a SunOS 4.1.x kermit binary to dial out. I had problems with
a native Solaris 2.3 kermit, when I ran it on a bi-directional port.
4. Set up ppp, if you have a ppp server you can `link up' over the
telephone and be on the network.
5. The answer book tells you how to set up ppp/uucp. There is also
Celeste's guide to modems that appears on the newsgroup every so often.

It is not clear what you want to do with a modem program, but I find tip,
included with all versions of Solaris 1.x on, is adequate for my needs.  I
only dial one number ever, but it includes the ability to run external
protocols with the '~C' command.  If you want something that can do
autologon scripts, try kermit.  If you want menus, minicom.  If you want X,
seyon.

FTP sites:
  kermit - watsun.cc.columbia.edu
  seyon or minicom - sunsite,unc.edu, somewhere in the /pub/Linux stuff.

I have not tried seyon or minicom in over a year and at the time I found
them buggy.

If you want to do zmodem up and down loads, there are a lot of adventures
because of Chuck Forsberg's attempts to keep us from using it except with
his programs.  With tip or kermit I use a version from 88 that allows i/o
redirection, but these versions would not work with seyon.
