Sata is just an economical scsi interface with more capacity and standards
similar to ide. Why not get a scsi array going? Scsi disks are faster,
even if they are smaller. I don't know exactly how you'd go about putting
sata on a pci controller, especially on a Sparc. Considering the
disklabels alone are insanely different, and that no one officially
provides sata for Sparc machines, I wouldn't do it. If you want to lose a
disk, then try making a Sun disklabel on the disk if you ever get it to
recognize. Other then that I think it'd be nearly impossible to even get
to the part addressed above.
