corrupt label -- wrong magic number

I solved my problem by doing format /dev/rdsk/c0t1d0s2. But I have
another problem.

We want this second 2.1 G disk to be used as only one file system. As I
know the partition 2 is the whole disk, but I think it is better to use
another partition. So I choose the partition 7 to point to the whole
disk in addition to partition 2, here is the partition table:
# prtvtoc /dev/rdsk/c0t1d0s2
* /dev/rdsk/c0t1d0s2 partition map
*
* Dimensions:
*     512 bytes/sector
*     125 sectors/track
*      10 tracks/cylinder
*    1250 sectors/cylinder
*    3355 cylinders
*    3353 accessible cylinders
*
* Flags:
*   1: unmountable
*  10: read-only
*
*                          First     Sector    Last
* Partition  Tag  Flags    Sector     Count    Sector  Mount Directory
       2      5    01          0   4191250   4191249
       7      0    00          0   4190000   4189999
#

Then I did a newfs /dev/rdsk/c0t1d0s7, but I got a error message

# newfs /dev/rdsk/c0t1d0s7
newfs: construct a new file system /dev/rdsk/c0t1d0s7: (y/n)? y
/dev/rdsk/c0t1d0s7:     4190000 sectors in 3352 cylinders of 10 tracks,

What is the problem? How to get around of this?

Thanks

1. Corrupt Label : Wrong Magic Number

Hi,
   My problem is that I have a 9.1G seagate drive on a Ultra 10 is and
it keeps saying ...

# fsck -F ufs /dev/rdsk/c0t0d0s2
** /dev/rdsk/c0t0d0s2
BAD SUPER BLOCK: MAGIC NUMBER WRONG
USE AN ALTERNATE SUPER-BLOCK TO SUPPLY NEEDED INFORMATION;
eg. fsck [-F ufs] -o b=# [special ...]
where # is the alternate super block. SEE fsck_ufs(1M).

and I can't run the format command in the format program because it says
I must use "Manufacturer supplied Format utility" which I don't have and
don't know how to get.  But I have tried the following ...

1. I have tried to use format to create a new label and  and still
"corrupt label : wrong magic number"  error.

2. I have tried restore a backup label and still "corrupt label  : wrong
