4mm DAT config?

Post by Bruce Hewits » Fri, 21 Apr 1995 04:00:00

I recently upgraded to Solaris 2.4, can anybody tell me what I need to do under 2.4
with the entries I had in st_conf.c under 4.1.3 for the 4mm DAT -- if anything,  or
where I can find the info -- I can't see anything in the FAQ?  The DAT (Python) is
running really slow.

thanks,

bruce

man st for an explanation of what to put in /kernel/drv/st.conf for your
drive. I would assume a flag set including the long timeout flag and the
default density code (0x0) or the one for DAT 61000 BPI (0x13) would make
up a good configuration.

1. 4mm dat config question

I am running 2.5.1 X86 DU10 patched to current. I have an Archive
Python 28388 that can only be accessed via /dev/rmt/0l (standard
format per the st manpage) Not by _any_ other device name but 0l, not
even  /dev/rmt/0. I know I can just rm 0 and create a link, but if the
device gets created should I not be able to access it? Perhaps there
is a different entry for my st.conf file.. I searched for hours on
st.conf "configs" and didn't find much.
Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

-Tim
