I have a runquake shell script to start up quake "maximised".
./quake.xil -winsize 1275 988
- you should be able to adjust those figures (x, y) any way you wish,
those numbers are good for a maximised window in 1280x1024 CDE. The
Ultra 10 may not be able to run very fluidly at that frame rate (my U60
can only barely handle it) so oyu may wish to halve those figures and
use "+pixel_multiply 2".
Quake 2 I cannot persuade to run particularly well under any
software/OpenGL circumstances.
mplayer suffers from a problem I believe is prevalent in almost all
older SPARC systems (and I've no idea if that has ever been seen to), a
lack of video hardware scaling.
