*Precompiled* GNU, where?

The binaries are located at prep.ai.mit.edu. Look in the subdirectory
/pub/gnu/sparc-sun-soaris2. You can also phone the Free Software
Foundation for distrubution. Sorry I don't have the phone number handy
right now.

There is a directory or file under /pun/gnu entitled
"gettin.gnu.<something>.<something>. You'll know it when you
see it.

You can also contact Cygnus Support in California. They code about 85% of
the GNU products. They sell support contracts and can provide the
binaries.

Or, you can get them in pkgadd format for free at

ftp://sunsite.unc.edu/pub/gnu/solaris-pkgs/sparc

gcc, gdb, perl, etc are there.  Perl and the likes are in Europe
(exactly where, I'm still looking for my lost bookmarks) -- check
archie.  the regexp is FSF.*gz.

Would you happen to know if I can get precompiled binaries for my
SUN4 (4/11) at this same site?

Mike.

I thought I knew where to find the binaries, but I happen to
have sunos 4.1.4 .. aka solaris 1.1.2 are the gcc (and X11R5/6)
binaries for this platform still available ?

Thanks,
Casey

you don't -need- bins for 4.1.4 -- i compiled gcc-2.7.0 from src right
out of the box.

1. Precompiled gnu binutils for Solaris 10 (Intel)

Hello,

i found that gcc is available on the companion disk but what is missing
are the other build tools. Especially without "ar" i can't do anything.
I looked at  http://www.sunfreeware.com/ but they also don't have this
package available.

Can someboy tell me where i can find this ?
