I believe there is a file in solaris  2.x that you can
set up default max and min password ages in.

Does anyone out there remember what it is called?

thanks.

The file you are referring to is /etc/shadow. It is a System V feature
not available in SunOS4.1.x. Only root can read it and the encrypted
password have been moved there.
Also, you can find a man page on shadow for more information.

Yes.

/etc/shadow. Try 'man passmgmt' (might be 'man passwdmgmt').
