No CDE Login

Post by Howard Huntle » Mon, 28 Apr 2003 18:28:30

My CDE login fails to load and allow users to login at the CDE login
screen. I have to telnet into the machine and start
"/etc/init.d/dtlogin start" to get logged into the system. The start
up stops at the loading of Ipv6 and ipv4. Can any one tell me how to
fix this error??

After you log in, are there any "rc" processes running?  Which ones?

1. CDE/1.2 (Solaris/2.6) vs CDE/1.0.2 (Solaris/2.5.1) -- Login-Screen Question

Shalom!

Under CDE/1.0.2 (Solaris/2.5.1), the Dtlogin screen gives me the following
session choices:

        Regular Desktop  [default]
        Common Desktop Environment (CDE)
        Openwindows Desktop
        User's Last Desktop
        Failsafe Session

However, under CDE/1.2 (Solaris/2.6), the Dtlogin screen only gives me these
session choices:

        Common Desktop Environment (CDE)  [default]
        Openwindows Desktop
        User's Last Desktop
        Failsafe Session

We need the "Regular Desktop" session back -- what to do? (and, does anyone
know why it's gone missing?)

Thanks in advance!
