by I'm installing a remanufactured Sparc 2 (model 4/75) for a client.
This machine could potentially be heavily loaded before it's replaced,
so I'm wondering ...
The machine comes preloaded with 4.1.3_U1. Surely someone has benchmark
results on Solaris 2.3 vs 4.1.3_U1? How about the alleged performance
improvements in 2.4?
I'd really rather use 2.x if 2.4 and above perform within, oh, 15% of
4.1.3_U1 performance (for a network-intensive suite of apps).
Thanks in advance for any insights whatever; I have to make a decision
about this over the next couple of days.
