Funny (no ha ha) NFS mounting of '/cdrom'

Post by Richard Moldova » Fri, 21 Jul 1995 04:00:00

I frequently have trouble remotely NFS mounting the 'cdrom' directory
on a Sparc/Solaris.  Even though it is shown as exportable I don't always
get the CD-ROM that is currently mounted.  Can anyone offer a clue as
to what could be happening?
Thanks.

You'll need to export the filesystem under /cdrom.  For example, exporting
/usr won't also export /usr/local, if /usr/local is a different file system.
So, if you insert a cd-rom, it is going to be something like
/cdrom/unnamed-cdrom (for example), so you will need to do a

share -F nfs -o ro /cdrom/unname-cdrom

You can also add

        share cdrom* -o ro

to the file /etc/rmmount.conf. That way, every time you insert a CD in
the drive, it will be automaticly shared by the volume manager.

HACMP GURU'S

Here's my delima. I've created filesystems and I need to add the resources
to the 2nd system so when it fails over, the resources come up. I'm not
overly familiar with HACMP so can I get a overview on what I need to do to
insure a successful failover? I have 2 volume groups (one is rootvg)
