I know this might sound strange, but try an earlier
DU, something around DU4 - DU7 say.

I run a server with two 3940's on Solaris x86 2.5.
I can't recall how far the system is with DU's, but
the last few I tried (probably DU8 - DU10) I had to
restore an earlier version of the adp driver. The
later one(s) didn't work at all.
