1. gdb 4.14 problem under x86 2.4
Hi
I have compiled the gdb 4.14 with gcc 2.6.3 and it works very well if you
are running it as root. If you are running it as non-superuser the gdb has
problems to open the child processes procfs image, or if it succeeds in
opening that file, it crashes when doing the first ioctl after the open.
When crashing in the open() errno is set to EACCESS despite the fact that
a stat reports the file permissions to 100600 and the owner to that one
running the gdb. If the open() succeedes, the ioctl (.., PIOCSTRACE, sigset)
returns EBUSY wich is not mentioned in the procfs(2) manpage for the
PIOCSTRACE iocontrol and perror says "Resource temporaryly unavailable".
The gdb is configured as an i386-unknown-solaris2.4.
Any suggestions?
