upgrading x86 2.1 -> 2.4

Post by Tim Wa » Mon, 24 Oct 1994 07:28:46

We have a bunch of Solaris x86 2.1 copies, ( all still in the box
except 1 ) what is the upgrade policy ?  Is it a free upgrade if
not how much is it ?

Thanks

1. Upgrade price: x86 2.1 -> 2.4?

I have a Sparc 5 running 2.4 and a 486 running 2.1. I'd like to upgrade
the 486 to 2.4 to provide faster NFS (supporting a different Ethernet
board than the WD8003 I'm using now) and working print service. (I
couldn't get the 2.1 x86 print service to work across the net.)

I see SunSoft hawking the compiler + OS bundle for $695, but I don't
need the compilers. And I don't qualify for the $99 educational deal.
Is there some cheaper upgrade deal for me?

Thanks in advance for any info on this.
