I have a SUN E450 running Solaris 2.6 (Last cluster patch as of
8/18/99) and am having trouble with in.ftpd (logging in to ftp).
Problem is the machine refuses connections from users with /bin/ksh as
a shell. It does accept users with /usr/local/bin/tcsh.
In the following example bruth has tcsh as the shell and target has ksh
as the shell. (It is definately shell dependant, if I change the
default shell of bruth, bruth can't login via ftp). Normal logins over
ssh work for all shells.
220 kanga.wmht.org FTP server (WMHT Educational Telecommunications)
331 Password required for bruth.
230 User bruth logged in.
Remote system type is UNIX.
Using binary mode to transfer files.
331 Password required for target.
530 Login incorrect.
/etc/ftpusers is nonexistant.
Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
