Hello,
i have a problem with one host. The aliases
are not build correctly. That means, entering
newaliases prints:
dbm map "Alias0": unsafe map file /etc/mail/aliases: Permission denied
WARNING: cannot open alias database /etc/mail/aliases
Cannot create database for alias file /etc/mail/aliases: No such device
What does this mean? The directory and the files
have the correct permissions, owners and groups.
Stopping and starting sendmail just prints (in /var/log/syslog):
sendmail[5318]: NOQUEUE: SYSERR(root): dbm map "Alias0": unsafe map
file /etc/mail/aliases
sendmail[5315]: unable to write /etc/mail/sendmail.pid
What is an unsafe file? Where is the error?
Thanks for any help, N. Grundmann
