2.6patched upgrade to 2.6 05/98 ?

Post by Ricardo Stell » Wed, 05 Aug 1998 04:00:00

Should a plain 2.6 patched be upgraded to 2.6 05/98 ?  Or should I
simply install MU2 ?

I would assume this would recover disk space in use by patch backups,
right ?  Would MU2 recover disk space ?

Thanks in advance...

I don't think 2.6 5/98 has any patches "built-in" that "plain" 2.6
doesn't.  These are Hardware Releases.  This means that they contain
drivers, etc. for newer hardware.  For example, 2.5.1 8/96 had drivers
for Fiber Channel - "plain" 2.5.1 did not.

The HW releases do have patches integrated.
