Need help for scsi disks

Post by Giampiero Marcena » Sat, 17 Aug 1996 04:00:00

Hello,
i wrote a device driver for a MO disk with 1024 bytes/sector, the driver
works well with dd, but i cannot mkfs or mount the disk because mkfs
continue to consider the drive a 512 byte/sector.
Anybody can give me a suggestion, please not the suggestion to use
512 byte/sector cartriges!!!!
Thanks in advance

1. Need help with scsi disk !!!!!!

I have a 4.2 gigabyte Seagate Cayman scsi disk wich i wish to format
for linux.
When I make fdisk it says I have 65535 cylinders and that I should put
heads to it.

The fdisk says

Disk /dev/sda  0 heads, 255 sectors, 65535 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 1 * 512 bytes

Anybody knows which heads, sectors and cylinders I should put there
so I can make it work.

Help please ASAP
