I have 3com503 which has 192.168.10.20 setup and use bnc.
dmesg | grep el
I try to ping another machine which has 192.168.10.10, it gives me no
answer. But the same
card, if I boot to Unixware, I get response.
So is there anything I can miss here ?

Just a few hints ...
Did you :
a) create /etc/hostname.driverInstance with either hostname or IP in it
?
b) reboot (touch /reconfigure before you booted) ?
c) looked through the installation guide for special handling (editing
.conf file)

1. cron not doing initgroups() in Solaris 2.6?
I have found that various systems newly upgraded from Solaris 2.5 to 2.6
are suffering from the following problem:
In any sort of job run by cron (initiated by either "at" or "crontab")
the supplementary group list is empty. [This is most easily demonstrated
by obeying "id -a" in such a job.] It's as though cron had simply not
done an initgroups(3c) when setting up the user environment.
These systems are 2.6 with all recommended patches (and more); in particular
the cron-and-friends patch 105393-05 is applied.
I'm at a loss to understand what's going on here! Is this (a) a bug, or (b)
a change of spec from earlier versions of Solaris? And correspondingly, is
there (a) a fix, or (b) a circumvention?
