I cannot load Sol. 8 on my SS20 due to the frame buffer it has - Leo card.
If I buy another SS20 with the requisite frame buffer and Solaris 8
pre-loaded, can I just move my memory, CDRom/Floppy and CPU over to the new
box.
This would give me Dual 50Mhz CPU's and 256 meg of memory.
Will this machine run ok?

Also, if I do this do I have to be careful where I put the memory chips?

Dave,

Instead of buying another Sparc 20 why don't you just buy either a 4
MB or 8 MB VSIMM fro your machine and remove the leo frame buffer. The
CG14 (onboard) with the 8 MB VSIMM will give you 1024x768 and 24 bit
color.

They are readily available on eBay (4 MB P/N 501-2481, 8 MB P/N
501-2482).
