Wanted - plain ascii table of Solaris 1.x to Solaris 2.x function mapping

Post by Larry W. Vird » Thu, 10 Feb 1994 00:11:44

I am struggling with conversion of code from Solaris 1.1 to Solaris
2.3.  Please don't be convinced when told the job will be trivial.  To
date, the cases where the conversion was trivial were pieces of trivial
code.

Right now I am trying to convert a piece of code which calls statfs().  There
doesn't appear to be an equivalent that I can find under Solaris 2.3.

While telling me that routine abc is obviously the replacement for
statfs will help - an even better help would be a pointer to a plain ASCII
file containing a mapping from function ABC to function XYZ .

Thanks!

I have often thought that a very nice internet resource would be a database
of every C library function & System Call, with a list of machines on which
it appears and a brief desciption of what it does. As a bonus a snippet of code
to implement the function where possible would be paradise!

Has anyone heard of such a thing?

1. Free mem function wanted in SOLARIS

Im looking for a way in SOLARIS to programmitacally thro a C function get
the available free physical memory. I can do this currently on SGI
machines.

I want the total physical memory
The amount of memory allocated
The amount of free memory
This should be distinguishable from SWAP space.

Kind of like bloatview on IRIX

If anyone has a code fragment to do this it would be greatluy appreciated.

Thanx in advance .. Joe.
