Hi all,

Does anyone know where I can get a (preferably free) GIF editor
for Solaris 2.x? Something like iconedit, but for GIFs.

Try "The Gimp" from www.gimp.org. It is a very good GNU Image
Manipulation Program (GIMP). It is a good bit more advanced than
iconedit, so it may be more than you want. If it is too much
for you, you can try 'xpaint', which might be available from ftp.x.org
in contrib someplace.

"xpaint" is pretty good, and handles multiple formats.

Umm, try gimp. The version I have is older.. and a little unstable
but I definitely has power. go http://www.gimp.org

However, it makes you fetch and install two random libraries, which made
me get rather irritated with it, and drop it.
Whereas xpaint is a simple 3-step
untar-xmkmf-make
issue, if you don't care about adding tiff support and whatnot.

My preference is 'XV' which I think is what Karl Klebenow refered to
as 'xview'.
