Anyone out there managed to format a 75 Gb drive under Solaris 8?

Specifically an IBM deskstar 75GXP.

If so can you send me your drive parameters......

Dunno about 75gig disk, but 2 * 45gig works well on ASUS K7V.

# format
Searching for disks...done

AVAILABLE DISK SELECTIONS:
       0. c0d0 <DEFAULT cyl 44674 alt 2 hd 32 sec 63>

       1. c1d1 <DEFAULT cyl 44674 alt 2 hd 32 sec 63>

       2. c2t0d0 <DEFAULT cyl 11194 alt 2 hd 5 sec 320>

Specify disk (enter its number):

c0d0 and c1d1 is IBM DTLA-307045.
And format command automatically obtain disk geometries.

good luck.

1. Unknown major/minor Devtype - IBM DeskStar 120 GB

I 'm trying to make an IBM DeskStar with 120 GB unter FreeBSD 4.6 runing.
Partitioning the harddrive with fdisk under /stand/sysinstall worked. But
when I tryed to craete a label it failed with the message: "Unknown
major/minor Devtype ".
The harddrive is noticed as
"ad0: 117800MB <IC35L120AVVA07-0> [239340/16/63] at ata0-master UDMA33" at
bootup.

Is it possible that the harddisk is not supported in the FreeBSD-release I
use?
How can i solve the problem?

Peter
