Ultra 10's empty are going for $250 on Ebay, that's about it, or maybe you
purchased it from your buddy.

If you can get them for $250...I'm ready to order qty 10 from you.

Well, here's the specs on what I got:

U10 333MHz, 512MB RAM, 9GB disk (IDE), Creator 3d
Type 5 keyboard & mouse included, no monitor.
Total: $250.00

I remember doing a little digging around after I bought the box (it
was at a rather popular used-computer show near Chicago) and the
"average" going price for such a system was anywhere from $300.00 up
to around $500.00.  This is taking into consideration the Creator
card.

1. Ultra 10 vs Ultra 60

My company is now going to upgrade WS' for a substantial amount of
money. App 130K USD. For this price we get either 10 U60
or 17 U10. I've done some performance tests and I'm positively
surprised by the U10 (though, the U60 I tested is a 360MHz and the
U10 a 333MHz, so more cache for the U10). But even on disk access
it was not that far behind. The one thing I did notice was that the
load on a heavy loaded system was higher on a U10, probably
because of the added delay for context switching due to EIDE. The
graphics was more or less equal - seems like the creator is the
bottleneck.

However, these are to be used as workstations, not as servers so
it should not be too much of a problem. Are there other issues
which should be considered before making a decision?

Regards,
 -Frode
