RAA02692: SYSERR(root): MX list for fyi.net. points back to yoda.fyi.net

When using the MX version of Sun's sendmail, I do not get this error. My MX list looks like:

...
        IN      MX      0 yoda.fyi.net.
        IN      A       204.179.80.2
...

TIA,

Steve

What an amazing coincidence! I just worked out why this was  happening for
one of my hosts.
By design sendmail will not deliver to  localhost.
When it gets a list of MX records if loghost is present it eliminates it as
a candidate and all records of lower preference.
Why it is designed this way, I don't know.

[ Added comp.mail.sendmail as receiver. ]

?RAA02692: SYSERR(root): MX list for fyi.net. points back to yoda.fyi.net

?When using the MX version of Sun's sendmail, I do not get this error. My MX list looks like:

?...
?      IN      MX      0 yoda.fyi.net.
?      IN      A       204.179.80.2
?...

fyi.net preference = 100, mail exchanger = mail.uu.net
fyi.net preference = 0, mail exchanger = yoda.fyi.net

yoda.fyi.net don't recognize itself to be fyi.net. Add 'fyi.net' to
class 'w' in sendmail.cf in yoda.fyi.net. That is:
Cw fyi.net

1. sendmail.cf (v8.6.12 and/or v8.6/SMI): serving multiple domains?

Any hints for how to act as a (perhaps alternate) mailserver for
multiple domains, not only accepting mail from multiple domains
for redistribution, but preserving their domainname when forwarding
the mail to its destination rather than rewriting the originator's
address to my domain?  I know the limited_masquerade capability of
8.8.5 supports this, but 8.8.5 isn't currently an option.  I figure
there has to be a way to do in in one of the 8.6 flavors mentioned
in the subject line, even if it would be a little ugly.
