I was trying to upgrade a SparcServer20 from Solaris 2.3 to 2.4 using and install
server which I have successfully used for a full install. Everything came up fine,
I selected Upgrade and the watch came up indicating that it was doing something. Or so
I thought. I patiently waited 1 1/2 hours then remembered I could bring up a window,
vmstat showd 100% idle time, OOH OOH! . A ps -ef showed that it was trying to
fsck /dev/dsk/c0t2d0s0 not c0t3d0s0
At this point I decided to try to abort it, I tried to select exit and a window
popped up saying the there were no upgradable disks on this machine.
Apparently it was just sitting there waiting to display this error message.
At this point I decided to try this from a local cdrom, only this time I did not
wait 1 1/2 hours -- I guess I can still learn. Again it was trying to fsck
/dev/dsk/c0t2d0s0 and within 5 minutes I got the same error about there being
no upgradable disks on this machine. Of course I had to coax it into giving me
this error.
Why is it messing with target 2??
Has anyone run into this??
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
