Message queue facility not in system...

Hi,

I encountered the above error message when running the UNIX command "rpcs".
Anybody know about this problem?? How to resolve this problem??

Hi,

Provided you realy mean 'ipcs' instead of 'rpcs' you can try the following:

Add the following lines to /etc/system to make sure the facilities are
loading during next boot.

The file /etc/system must be edited - up to three lines must be added in
the "forceload" section, dependent on the facilities required.

   forceload: sys/shmsys
   forceload: sys/msgsys
   forceload: sys/semsys

No, you don't need to do that. It's merely trying to tell you that the
modules haven't been loaded yet because they haven't been needed.
It's just a Very Bad Message.

In Solaris 7 ipcs was changed to print "facility inactive", which is less
confusing to humans but upset test suites, so the message may just be removed
altogether someday.

1. Message Queue facility not in system!!!

Hi,
        I am running Solaris 2.5. When I issue the command "ipcs", I got the following error messages :

                Message Queue facility not in system.
                Shared Memory facility not in system.
                Semaphore facility not in system.

        How do I solve this problem?
