backup problem: can not reach 5GB on the 8mm tape, please help!

I recently have a problem with my server as
following, I am wondering if someone can give me some hint?

I have a SUN 5GB 4mm Tape backup unit, and I am using FUJI  DDS DG-90M
tape, I use following command to back up my file systems:

/usr/sbin/ufsdump $LEVEL'cuf' '/dev/rmt/0cbn' '/dev/rdsk/c0t3d0s0'
                                         ^
No matter I use m, h, or c, it always stops after backup 2.5 GB, how
can I get it to store 5GB as it should be? What I am missing here?

ufsdump uses default settings for tape density, length and so on. Use
'man ufsdump' and set 's' and 'd' parameters

Sorry I don't know good values...

However the device to use should be 'hbn'

Good luck

1. Help with backup on Solaris 1.x 5GB 8mm!

hello, I have a ssun with a 5GB 8mm drive.  The OS is so old
(i guess) that it doesn't mention the density or size of the tape (in feet)
Could you please help me back up my system?  Are there any programs out
there that are Openwindows or X that make it easy to backup--I'd really like
to dump dump :) ...How can I put 4 filesystems on one tape.  I'm new
to system admin and would appreciate help--I looked through a couple of
faqs but couldn't find this info.

Thanks!
