problem: 101317-12/11 and jumpstart

Does anyone out there use jumpstart and load patches
automatically? And if so have you tried to install
101317-11 or -12. Niether patch will install during
jumpstart. 101317-09 works, no problem. They lockup
and I look at the processe running and it is
a command (I really don't remember which one right
now) that is being caugt by signal 14 sigalrm. Has
anyone else run into this problem or are using those
patches OK?

Unpack the patch, and remove the bit that tries to shutdown and
restart lpsched in the preinstall and postinstall scripts.

Then repack the patch after repairing the checksums in the pkgmap
files.

1. Solaris 2.3 101317-12 patch

Attention all users of Solaris 2.3 Patch 101317-12.

I encountered the problem of misprinting after installing Solaris 2.3
Patch 101317-12.  It seems that the patch does not work well on a
Sun SparcServer 4/490 running Solaris 2.3 installed with an ALM-2
interface.  Printers attached to the ALM-2 port with exhibit problems
such as pages not being printed and on all occasions the last page of
the document will not be printed.  The printer I used was a Apple
Laserwriter Select 360 at 9600 baud, 8 data bits, 1 stop bits, no parity
an software flow control.

If you have the same problem,  you may like to revert back to
a patch before 101317-12.

Happy printing.
