Looking for Blade resources

I am looking for any sites that have details pertaining to hardware support.

Basically looking for ideas on what PCI devices I can and cannot plug into
the PCI slots.

According to the spec. sheet, Blade100 has three 32-bit PCI slots,
full-size, 33 MHz, 5/3.3 volt. So, nothing special here, standard PC
stuff. However, you can use only those devices that the vendors says
are supported on Solaris 8/sparc with a possible exception of certain
Symbios 53c875 based UltraSCSI boards, that often are not supported on
Solaris/Sparc platform but work anyways because Sun uses the same chip
in its own UltraSCSI cards.

Sun sells a wide range of compatible PCI I/O cards.  There is a number
of third party PCI boards that are supported on Sun platform and they
are often more affordable than Sun's own PCI cards.  LSI, Antares,
Znyx, etc to name a few .. You can search dejanews for previous
discussions about third-party PCI cards on Solaris/sparc platform.

1. Blade 100: DVD player for Blade + S8?

Hi,

Anyone know of a DVD player package for Solaris 8/Blade 100 combo? I
found a nice DVD/CDRW EIDE drive from LG
at my local Micro Center a while back and have been searching for a
player for a while now.

DVD drive works OK, I can read the UDF filesystems on various DVD's I
have but it would be nice to play
        the movies as well!
