I have noticed that our Decs workstations have a resolution of 1200 by 1000 under
motif, but I have run into problems writting code to run under Solaris and motif
since the resolution of our sparc seems to be less than 1200 1000
its actually Width 1152 by 900

Is this resolution fixed ? Or is there a software switch to change the
resolution.(We have a Gx Turbo card installed on that sparc)

Any pointers would be helpful

You should probably better fix your software. Suns 1152x900 are somewhat
odd (standards are 1024x768 and 1280x1024), but X is quite independend of
a special display size (if all, it depends on a sufficient resolution, i.e.
no gameboy 640x480 crap). A software that strongly depends on a hardcoded
screensize is treated broken on X.
