I'm running a sparc 10 ( I think its a clone system ).
When I run solaris 2.4 or 2.5 ( worse ) on this machine, after a few minutes
of disk activity that I do on the machine, it responds saying "disk not
responding to selection" and then I can no longer access that drive...
( It sometimes happens on other drives. )
I've formated the drive, done clean installs of both 2.4 and 2.5 and
the same thing happens... it just happens quicker and harder under 2.5.
I re-installed 2.3.. not a problem.
So, what did Sun do to the scsi harddrive drivers that cause it to kill
my drives? Sometime it will even cause the disk to spin down! but only
under 2.4 or 2.5.
I heard someon had a similar problem a while back with Maxtor drives..
these are quantums.
