Why didn't Sun support more P9000 based cards in the latest edition
of Solaris 2.4 x86? Even OS/2 Warp supports a generic P9000 card out
of the box. I know the Viper is popular, but it's not that much trouble
for Sun to get a standard P9000 support up. By "standard" I mean a P9000
card that doesn't have proprietary dot clock programming that's been
very much criticized (and rightfully so) in the XFree86 group discussions.
Note to Sun: just take the code from XFree86 3.1 for your generic P9000
support in openwin...it's free you know ;-)
