Sparcstation 4 audio question

Sparcstation 4 audio question

Post by Scott Dunb » Sat, 08 Jul 1995 04:00:00

Hi,
I have a SparcStation 4 _without_ the audio option installed.
However, I noticed that within my SS4 there is a small speaker that is
attached to the motherboard.  I have installed the 2.4 3/95 upgrade along
with any patch that says "audio" in the description and still no sound.
What's up?  My guess was that there was not the 16 bit audio I/O but
since I can't get anything to work I'm not sure.

        Just curious.

Hi !

AFAIK any SPARCstation * has an audio device, hasn't it ?
We have some SPARCstation 4 boxes here, Solaris 7 installed recently, and
they're
missing /dev/audio.
/dev/sound/0 is also missing.

Any idea what happend here ??
