x86 Crashing dialy - Help?!

Hi,

We've got a 486-50 with 32 Megs., running Solaris x86 2.1 stock off the CD
(no patches applied), which has started to crash with great regularity and
very few clues as tp what's causing it.

This machine has been getting a lot more use lately with network logins, but
the load never goes over 0.4 and the system config is not played with.

It appears to be inetd which is going down, but it's hard to say for sure.
Sometimes the console will still be OK, sometimes not.

The following is a syslog from just before the latest crash:

Jul  9 22:40:41 finnegan inetd[124]: accept: Protocol error
Jul  9 22:46:21 finnegan inetd[124]: accept: Protocol error
Jul  9 23:04:20 finnegan inetd[124]: accept: Protocol error
Jul  9 23:31:41 finnegan inetd[124]: accept: Protocol error
Jul  9 23:36:32 finnegan inetd[124]: accept: Protocol error
Jul  9 23:40:29 finnegan sendmail[165]: NOQUEUE: SYSERR: getrequests:
accept: Protocol error

I can't find _where_ to adjust NQUEUE or any other parameter (if someone
could give me a clue where to do this I'd be grateful!) - is this the
problem, and if so, how can I fix it?

Thanks in advance.

-Barry
