Upgrade 2.3->2.4

Upgrade 2.3->2.4

Post by Peter.McCorm.. » Thu, 23 Feb 1995 12:51:15

  Any ideas as to why attempting to upgrade
  (rather than re-install) from 2.3
  to 2.4 via CDROM fails to find an upgradable
  system?
  With all except essential disks switched off
  the above condition occurs.
  With all disks mounted the suninstall process
  hangs at the point where you choose 'upgrade'
  or 'initial'.
  Presumably the program pfupgrade is being
  executed.  Does anybody know how this works?

Any comments on the upgrade procedure for 2.4??

Mainly, is it better to do a fresh install of 2.4 or should I consider
using the Sun upgrade procedures?

How do I maintain my path_to_instance file if I am doing a fresh install
of 2.4 and controller have been moved all over the place???

Thanks....
