NIS+ was designed for _very_ large installations (+10000 users), you've to do a
lot for initial setup for such big systems...
But I agree, NIS+ can be a pain of you try to use it in it's whole
functionality. But if you reduce it to the minimum setup (only one master
server, no replicas) it works good and stable (assuming Solaris 2.7). Only
requires some nice scripts for administration...
