Hi,

I have a system based on an ASUS PVI-486SP3 motherboard and
an Adaptec 2940.  I have tried to load Solaris 2.5.1 but not
suceeded with the above combination.

I have tried all quick fixes listed in bug reports and installation
notes. I have even checked the HCL and still no results. I'm sure
it must be possible, Unixware has run on this system for 2 years
or more with no problems...

Does anyone have the above combination loaded and running ?  If
so how was it loaded ?

1. pb with asus pvi-486SP3 motherboard

I just bought an asus 486 pvi-486sp3 mother board with 32Mb of RAM and
a Cx586 and I have some strange problems :

with 32Mb, I have lots of problems while compiling the kernel :

  - IOT trap/Abort
  - gcc killed by signal 11
  - segmentation fault
  - just created files damaged
  - ...

When I compile witheout X, I must do 3 or 4 compilations before the
problems come. With X, the first compilation is the good one :-(

When I put out one of the simms (I have 2 16Mb simms), all is fine.

So it seems to be ok with 16Mb and not with 32Mb.

do you know where the problem could be ?

Pascal

ps : the Cx586 didn't seem to do some thing armfull because I have the
     same results with an AMD486.
