Hi

I believe that it can be done , but I am  not sure how.
I would like to know the answer to this one as well.

So , I thought I'd write to give your request some more weight :)

If IP is installed on the NT server, and the printer has an IP
address, it should work OK.  You will have to have drivers for the
printer.  I use HP Jet-admin to talk to a Laserjet 5si attached to an
NT server.  The Jet-admin software makes it very easy to set up a
printer.  You provide the IP address and it will query to get all the
printer information.

This is about the scope of my printer expertise on Solaris, but
hopefully this will be enough.

The smbclient part of the SAMBA package will let you spool a file
to a Win95/WinNT/Win311-shared printer.

Binaries can be downloaded from somewhere on

    http://samba.anu.edu.au/samba/

You do not need to concern yourself with a full install of SAMBA at
first -- just the smbclient program.

    cat file_to_print | \
          smbclient '\\Win95Machine\PrinterShare' -N -P -c 'print -'

Or something similar.  See the smbclient man page for details.
