I've been told that it's best to start sshd using the inetd, rather than
a standalone daemon (not that I really want to get into that argument
again - please don't!). However on one Solaris box, I'm finding that it
takes much longer to connect (using inetd) with my ssh client, than it
does with the standalone.
The telnet is OK though which leads me to believe the problem doesn't
lie with the inetd, but with the sshd. Can anyone suggest what might be
causing this delay please?
Thanks,
JS.
