Could someone please clarify this.  I have a UE2 running 2.5.1 and wish
to upgrade the machine to 2.6 by wiping the interal drives and doing
a fresh install of 2.6.  The machine has 8 external drives that are
configured as pieces of several RAID 0 meta-devices.  I would like to
avoid having to backup and reconfigure these meta-devices.  Is this
possible?  How do I go about upgrading disksuite before hand, and what
does this accomplish?  Thanks for your help.

Chris.

I have this dilemma: upgrade from 2.5.1 and 4.0 to 2.6 and 4.1 or NOT.
And how to upgrade smoothly? Any steps by steps procedures to help?
Well, it's so risky to upgrade the file server. :)

Thanks.

BTW, thanks for all replying the answer of where the DiskSuite is.
What a funny place (Intranet Extensions) to store it.

Load the DiskSuite user and administrator answerbooks also
to your system from the CD if you didn't do those earlier.

Read carefully the the chapter/Appendix :

"Upgrading_to_Other_Solaris_Versions"

and follow the step-by-step instructions on how to upgrade
OS and then the disksuite etc.

Be sure to backup all your data before doing anything .

Hope it helps,

1. Solaris 2.6 & Solstice DiskSuite 4.0

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Hi,

I'm currently running Solaris 2.5.1 and DiskSuite 4.0.

I find that 2.6 Server misses the DiskSuite.  How can I obtain
the latest DiskSuite for 2.6 or use 4.0 on Solaris 2.6?

Thanks in advance.
