WABI problems

Post by Cosmos Nicola » Sun, 12 Mar 1995 01:16:18

Hi,

I'm having some problems with installing wabi -- I see two errors:

i) when I try to install the wabi answerbook it complains about
the absence of the SUNWalaud, SUNWoldcv, SUNWolrte, SUNWxwplt, SUNWxwoft
and SUNWxwcft packages. The snag is that I can't find these on any of
solaris cd's!

ii) when I run wabi for the first time it prompts me to install
windows 3.1 etc. The problem here is that whatever fonts it is using
aren't visible on my screen -- I sometimes see the text for a fraction
of a second as it flashes onto my screen but then disappears.

I'm running solaris 2.3 on an SS20 with SX (SIMM) framebuffer.

Any ideas as to what's going on? Also does anyone know if its possible
to load windows 3.11 from CD rather from floppy into WABI??

Thanks for your help!

        Cheers, Cos.

I had no trouble install WABI (Solaris 2.4, Sparc 2, Wabi 2.0), but
trying to install Windows gave me a lot of trouble (trying from disk that
is).  What I eventually did was FTP the disks to a directory and install
from there.  That worked great.  Never had any problems with Wabi install
however...

1. Wabi problems

Hi

I have installed Wabi 2.0 on Pentium PC.
1.
My graphic card gives me 24 bit color, but wabi don't start. It says
about color depth 18 in init_gdi. I cant find init_gdi - nor file nor
parameter. Have You any idea what is happening?

I reconfigured my station to use only *-bit for color, wabi runs.
But:

2. I have only win for workgroups, so I can't install it on wabi.
I've installed Word 6.0 without windows.
It was working a while, now when I start, I got always error mesage:
Exception E At 17:8186AA1
Any ideas?

Thanks in advance
