Hello,
I have got a problem with quota on S 8 x86. When user exceedes his quota
for a filesystem, system crashes.
From a syslog:

It happends for every user with quota and for each filesystem, even if

Any ideas?

system crash with quota exceded 5.8 x86

Hi Tomek

If I recall the Sun Newsflash mail correctly, this is a known bug. I'm not
sure if there is a patch yet. Check http://sunsolve.sun.com. If there is
nothing your only option is to deaktivate the disk quotas until a patch is
avalible.

Hope this helps.

Frank

1. gcc and/or ld is slow on x86 solaris 5.8

I am working on a program needs to be linked with about 10 libraries and
several object files.
Most of the time, it is very slow (more than 10 minutes on a 16GHz
machine) during linking phase of c++ compilation using gcc.
I also met several cases that compiles very fast (less than a minute)
for the same program.
But, I didn't get the reason.
I guess maybe it is because ld is waiting for some resources?
Any explanation or possible solution?

Thanks!
