Very Computer

I have a V88 with Solaris 9 installed. We wanted t attach a Lacie 1Tb
usb external drive to it. The system recognizes the unit when I run a
format command but it says that it is an unknown disk type. It shows up
in the /dev/dsk as :

but when I run format I see:

When I attempt to config it manually it fails every time.
What do I do next? ... /
