What is the difference between "everything" installs of the "OE" and
non-OE versions of SPARC/X86 Solaris 9?
Thanks
Don

What are these versions you're referring to? I've never seen anything
described in those terms - you will sometimes see Solaris referred to
as the Solaris Operating Environment or Solaris OE for short, but it's
just another name for the same thing.

Do you perhaps mean a complete install and a complete install
        with OEM support?

Oh, oh, oh!  "OEM"!  Duh - my brain is on vacation this week (good thing
the rest of me is too.)

The "Everything + OEM" adds drivers for computers made by companies
other than Sun who OEM Solaris for their computers, such as the Fujitsu
SPARC64 computers.

1. Upgrade Redhat 6 from "Server" to "Install Everything"

Hello,

I wonder if someone can help?

Currently:

1. Installed RedHat6, "server" installation, via an ftp install (used
the 'network' version of the boot disk image to do this)
2. Now have a complete set of RPMS .rpm packages in /usr/rpms directory.
2. Everything working fine.

Proposed:

1. 'Upgrade' installation to a "Custom/Install Everything" installation.

Questions:

1. Should I boot with the installation boot disk which I originally
used to do the "server" installation, or should I use a plain vanilla
version (no network drivers)?
2. Can I then direct the 'Upgrade' process to use the .rpm's in
the /usr/rpms directory?
3. Will I retain all the configuration changes which I have made since
the original installation (not a lot, but nonetheless I would like to
avoid having to customize again)?

Thank in advance for any help.

Paul
