I updated crontab file by addig the proper entry to text file cron.root.
Could you tell me how to force cron to use new settings (restart cron).
I tried cron command. Shell returned:

^C# cron
# ! cannot start cron; FIFO exists Sun Jun 4 12:47:25 2006
! ******* CRON ABORTED ******** Sun Jun 4 12:47:25 2006

What command causes restart?

The man page for cron says you should use svcadm, so something like:

svcadm restart system/cron

or maybe:

svcadm refresh system/cron
