For solaris 2.4 its 'mount -F pcfs /dev/diskette <mount_pt>'

Simple!
Just:
1. put in the floppy
2. run volcheck
Then the floppy, if mountable, is mounted under /floppy, accessible via
both it's "name" and it's "symname":
/floppy
/floppy/floppy0 symlink to /floppy/unnamed_floppy
/floppy/unnamed_floppy mount point for floppy named
"unnamed_floppy"
If the floppy isn't mountable (i.e. doesn't have a DOS or Solaris UFS
filesystem on it), then use "fdformat" to create a DOS filesystem, or
fdformat/newfs to create a Solaris/UFS one.
(I've also sent this answer in email to Charlie.)
SS> For solaris 2.4 its 'mount -F pcfs /dev/diskette <mount_pt>'
Stephen:
This of course only works if Volume Management (vold) isn't running.
If volmgt is running, then putting in the floppy and running volcheck
is all you need to do (and you don't even have to be root to do it).
To a newbee, the easiest way to mount a floppy would be to run the
file manager, "filemgr", click on "Check For Floppy", copy using drag and drop, and Eject.

1. HELP: Mounting Iomega Zip (100 MB) DOS Floppy on Solaris 2.5
Hi. I have successfully UFS-formatted an Iomega Zip Disk 100 MB and
exported the filesystem over NFS. Now, I'm trying to mount a DOS
(Win95)-formatted Zip Disk 100 MB, and, for the life of me, have not
been successful. I know the file system type is "pcfs", but I have not
been successful using what I thin is the correct command:
mount -F pcfs /dev/dsk/c0t5d0s0 /mnt
By the way, a similar command works for a UFS-formatted disk:
mount -F ufs /dev/dsk/c0t5d0s0 /mnt
Does someone know how I can mount a 100 MB Zip Drive DOS file system to
my Sun?
