Xprt patches for Solaris 7...

Post by Roland Main » Mon, 24 Jul 2000 04:00:00

Hi !

----

Can anyone say when the following issues/bugs in Solaris 7 Xprt will be
fixed (they're fixed with recent Xsun patches in Solaris 8, but it seems
that most of them aren't fixed in S7... ;-( ) ?
-- snip --
4318777 Xprt output has position problem in PS mode
4287741 Xprt can't start on zh locale
4297581 Xprt crash caused by memory leak
4297830 Xprt prints large scalable font at wrong position
4308640 Xprt core dump when PCL mode is enabled
4308661 Overlapping occurs on PCL mode Xprt
4308670 duplex and landscape printing do not work with Xprt PostScript
output
4312893 Xprt:PS driver can't handle pmf font properly
4312517 FBPM code should also be propagated from Xsun to Xprt
-- snip --

Is there a way to pass the Solaris-fixes for Xprt back to X.org (or make
them "public") that other vendors (like Xfree86.org, e.g. the Linux port
of Xprt) can fix this, too ?

----

Bye,
Roland

1. How wto configure Xprt ?

Hi !

----

How to configure Xprt (X print server) ? Are there any infodocs
available ?

We'd like to configure Xprt in a per-system basis (e.g. lauched by
/etc/init.d/lp), but it prints as user "root" (we're using the std.
config which prints via "lp") ;-(
