Solstice "needs Maintenance" state! need help!

Post by Alf » Sat, 24 Aug 2002 23:33:42

Hello,

I run "metastat" to see if my RAID1 is correct and you can see below  I saw.
Is there a solution to know if it a disk failure problem on c1t0d0 or if it
is just a logical problem that I can solve with meta commands?

Thank you in advance for your help

Alf

Looks like disk failure. Choose analyze from the format command to see if the
disk is still alive. If not, you have to replace the disk.

It is definitely a disk failure.

In my experience format/analyze is a waste of time: if often wont find
anything, but the disk is still faulty.

You can resync each device in state "Maintenance" by command
metareplace -e d0 c1t0d0s0
metareplace -e d3 c1t0d0s3
...

You can do it with the faulted disk; this is a _real_ test.
