RamDisk and Path

Say I wanted to make a RAM disk so that all the bin and lib directory would
reside  in it for faster access when there is heavy i/o? First, what command
could  I use to create and mount the ramdisk, and second; how would I set
the PATH to look for the ramdisk in the path as opposed to the hard disk
copy (does it check in ascending order, left to right?)
